GOAL Digital Academy is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Hazel Health, a leading provider of school-based telehealth services, to enhance access to quality healthcare for its students. This collaboration underscores
the critical link between health and academic success, offering tailored, on-demand health support to meet the unique needs of the GOAL Digital Academy community.
This initiative is made possible through the SOAR (State of Ohio Action for Resiliency) Network Innovation Grant, announced by Governor Mike DeWine in early 2024. The $20 million investment is designed to address key risk and resiliency factors affecting youth mental health and to support innovative solutions such as telehealth services provided by Hazel Health.
Through this partnership, students will gain access to virtual care services—including both physical and mental health resources—available from home or at any of GOAL’s Learning Labs. Hazel Health offers a secure, user-friendly platform that connects students with licensed healthcare professionals, ensuring they receive timely care while minimizing disruptions to their education.
"I am beyond excited to partner with Hazel Health through the SOAR Grant," said Jenna Streib, Behavioral Therapist at GOAL Digital Academy. "This partnership addresses one of the most pressing needs in education today: access to quality mental health support. By eliminating barriers like transportation, cost, and long waitlists, we empower our students to focus on their growth and learning. This is more than a program—it’s a commitment to their well-being and future."
Key benefits of the partnership include:
● Comprehensive Mental Health Services: Students have access to counseling and
therapy sessions to address stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.
● Accessibility: Hazel Health’s telehealth platform is available on any internet-connected device, providing flexibility and convenience for families.
● Coordination with Existing Care: Hazel Health works closely with students’ primary
care providers to ensure continuity of care.
This initiative aligns with Ohio’s strategic focus on improving behavioral health through early interventions and cutting-edge solutions. The partnership marks a pivotal step in ensuring GOAL Digital Academy students have the tools and resources necessary to thrive both academically and personally.
"As Superintendent, I am thrilled to announce our partnership with Hazel Health," said Tish Jenkins, Superintendent of GOAL Digital Academy. "This collaboration ensures our students have immediate access to vital care and support, breaking down barriers to success and placing their well-being at the forefront. Teletherapy provides timely assistance in a manner that seamlessly integrates into their daily lives."
